Access to Services
As part of our commitment to ensure that everyone has equal access to our services, we provide a range of interpretation and translation services for people whose first language is not English, and can also provide information in other formats such as Braille and audio tape. This helps to ensure that people don't miss out on the help, support and services they need.
- Face to face interpretation service - We can arrange for an interpreter to be present when we interview you at home or in one of our offices.
- Translations - We can arrange for any of our leaflets or documents to be translated into most languages.
- Other formats - We can provide information in other ways such as Braille, audio tape or cd. If you have a preference please let us know and we will try to help. Please contact our Customer Services section for more information - click here to view their contact details.
- Password Scheme - We can arrange for a password to be used when any of our employees visit you at home, to put your mind at rest about who's calling. If you would like to know more about this scheme, please contact our Customer Services section - click here to view their contact details.
We would be very interested to hear what you think about the services we provide, or the services you would like to see made available. Please contact our Customer Services section with your comments or suggestions - click here to view their contact details.

Black and Minority Ethinic Housing Strategy
Tristar Homes Ltd and Stockton Borough Council have published a Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) housing strategy. We aim to deliver fair and equitable access to housing services and sometimes it is necessary to undertake additional work to ensure that specific groups in the borough receive appropriate housing and related services.
There are 5 objectives to the strategy:
- Understand the diverse needs of all residents to ensure equality of opportunity and access to housing services
- Increase choice and help achieve housing needs and aspirations
- Improve the condition of existing housing in both the public and private sector
- Address identified community and social needs
- Assist in the provision of safe and sustainable neighbourhoods
