Environmental Issues

Concern for the environment is an integral and fundamental part of our Business Plan. We are committed to good environmental management practice in connection with carrying out our business aims and objectives.

Our Environmental policy has been developed in partnership with Stockton Borough Council and the Energy Savings Trust.

The Stockton Borough Council website provides further information on:-

  • Climate Change Climate change is one of the most serious environmental threats facing the world today. Global temperature increase is likely to trigger serious consequences for humanity and other life forms.
  • Comfort Zone was launched to help householders who may be 'fuel poor' (spending at least 10% of annual income on heating) to become more energy efficient by utilising measures such as loft and cavity wall insulation. This can dramatically reduce the amount of energy used to heat the home and therefore reduce fuel bills.
  • Fairtrade is about addressing poverty in the developing world through better prices. By buying Fairtrade certified products you're giving farmers a chance to sell their products at a stable price that covers their costs and enables them to support their families and invest in a better future.
  • Energywatch is the independent gas and electricity consumer watchdog. They can help with you with complaints and issues regarding gas and electricity suppliers.
  • UK Power Ltd is an independent private limited company that has been set to make it easy for people to compare gas, electricity and dual fuel prices between suppliers, and to make this information freely available, allowing you to save money on fuel bills.
