Working with the Energy Savings Trust
Tristar Homes are taking a step further to tackle climate change. In a partnership with the Energy Savings Trust, Tristar Homes is working to encourage all staff to sign up to saving 20% of the energy they use.
Following the Government's target to reduce our carbon dioxide (CO2) Emissions by 20% by 2010 Tristar Homes have recently developed an Environmental Policy and action plan with key targets to improve our environmental performance.
Our aim is to positively raise awareness to all staff, customers, partners and stakeholders about the need to reduce waste, encourage recycling and promote more efficient and effective working practices.
About half of the UK's C02 emissions come from the energy we use every day at home and when we travel.
Tristar Homes employees recently took the opportunity to pledge their commitment during Tristar Homes Staff Conference with over 150 staff signing up to tackle climate change.
As part of the conference, officers from the Energy Saving Trust discussed the importance of being more energy efficient, and found out about how to reduce their energy consumption as well as their energy bills.
Joanne Cullum from the Energy Savings Trust is pleased with the support of those committing to tackle climate change, she said;
"It was great to see everyone taking part. Every member of staff who signed up to the commitment received some beneficial advice about what they can do to make a difference."
