Make A Difference Day

TRISTAR HOMES TAKE A HANDS-ON APPROACH TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE - 23RD JULY 2008

Residents on the Newtown Estate in Stockton benefited from some hands-on help from staff at Tristar Homes on Wednesday 23rd July 2008.

Volunteers made up from staff and residents took time out of their day, to see what a difference they could make to the estate on a limited budget but armed with bags of initiative, enthusiasm and lots of hard work.

Over 50 staff and residents got together from 9am until 4pm to paint and clean inside of the blocks of flats, plant window boxes, general repairs and maintenance inside and out of the properties, litter picking, completing customer contact visits and planted shrubs and bushes which were kindly donated by Ravensworth Nurseries, North Yorkshire. Even Timmy, Tristar's canine mascot, turned up to lend a hand!

Resident Paul Dolan from the Newtown estate said; "It's been a great day, the whole area looks and feels so much nicer already and it's been a fun day too for everyone."

Tristar Homes hope to carry out similar make a difference days in the future.
