Harassment and hate crime
Tristar Homes Ltd will not tolerate harassment and Hate Crime on its estates. We are committed to tackling those individuals or groups who are involved in harassment of any sort on the areas we manage, swiftly and effectively.
We are clear in our Tenancy Agreement that we will not tolerate any form of harassment or Hate Crime from our tenants, their families or visitors to their home.
Our tenant's responsibilities are:
You must not cause or permit any form of harassment on the grounds of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation or disability which may interfere with the peace and comfort of, or cause offence to any other tenant, members of his or her household visitors or neighbours.
Definition of Harassment
Harassment is defined as any unwanted behaviour directed at an individual or group, which is offensive or objectionable to the recipient. It is behaviour or conduct which will interfere with the peace and comfort of individuals or groups which has the effect of hurting, intimidating, humiliating, ridiculing and or undermining their confidence.
The main types of harassment we consider are:
- Racial harassment
- Sexual harassment
- Disability harassment
- Age harassment
- Hate crime
- Harassment because of sexuality, against the gay, lesbian or bi-sexual community
