Home Improvements
Tristar Homes is responsible for the delivery of improvement and rationalisation works to Council properties. Tristar Homes and Stockton Borough Council are working in partnership to deliver an Investment Programme designed to meet the Governments commitment to improve the condition of housing, bringing all housing up to the 'Decent Standard' by 2010.
'Decent Standard'
The Government has defined a decent home as one that is wind and weather tight, warm and has a modern facility. A decent home meets the following four criteria:
- The current statutory minimum standard for housing
- It is in a reasonable state of repair
- It has reasonable modern facilities and services
- It provides a reasonable degree of thermal comfort
All tenants have been advised of which phase and year their home fits into within the master programme up until 2010.
