Hardwick & Mandale Regeneration

Housing Regeneration is undertaken by Stockton Borough Council.  For further information on the redevelopment of Mandale and Hardwick of Stockton please access the external link below.

The regeneration scheme for Mandale in Thornaby will provide a mixed neighbourhood of rented Housing Association and private properties to buy. The aim is to provide a neighbourhood with good quality housing in which people for many generations will want to live. The scheme will bring multi million pound investment into Thornaby and is likely to take 10 years to complete.

The proposal is to demolish 578 dwellings on the existing Mandale Estate and replace these with a mixture of Housing Association and private dwellings. NOMAD Housing Group have been appointed as the preferred Registered Social Landlord. Barratt Newcastle and Haslam Homes (part of Keepmoat plc) are the private developer partners.

The Hardwick scheme aims to build new housing for sale and rent including a retirement village to meet the needs of Stockton's older residents. Stockton Borough Council are working with Tristar and Endeavour Housing Association.  This scheme builds upon the demolitions that have already taken place and intends to create a sustainable Hardwick for future generations.
