Housing and Council Tax Benefits

Housing and Council Tax Benefit are national benefits administered by local Councils to help people on low incomes pay their rent and Council Tax.

Your income and savings will affect the amount of benefit you receive. Generally, the higher your income and savings, the lower the amount of benefit. Your personal circumstances, such as your age and family size, will also be taken into account - as well as the rent level and property type.

You can call into your local Neighbourhood Housing Office for advice on housing benefits or telephone the Income Management Team on freephone 0800 389 3288

For more information on Stockton Council's housing benefit please click here to view the relevant section on Stockton Borough Council's website.
