Home Swap Scheme
What is 'Home Swap'?
The Home Swap Scheme allows Council tenants and some Housing Association tenants to exchange their home - providing certain requirements are met.
Please note that before any Home Swap can be considered a full check against our Allocation Criteria is carried out, this will include checking your rent account, eligibility for the property type, and the condition of your property.
Once you register for Home Swap, your property details will be displayed online in this section of the website. If you find something of interest to you, please contact our Home Choice Team. Simply click on the township area you wish to relocate to and browse the properties currently available:
Tenants who are interested in your home may contact you directly to see if you would be interested in exchanging with them.
Under no circumstances should you move until you have written permission to exchange by Tristar Homes or any other Local Authority Landlord as this could result in legal action.
Why Home Swap?
At present the authority is experiencing a shortage of available housing in certain areas, therefore your application could be on the Choice Based Lettings Scheme for some time.
Due to this shortage, we are actively encouraging tenants to participate in the Home Swap scheme if your current home is unsuitable for your needs.
