Combined Payment Scheme
Tristar Homes Ltd, on behalf of Stockton Borough Council, are responsible for the prevention of rent arrears. Our main source of income is the rent that you pay and this is required in order to continue to provide homes for those who need them.
Tristar understand that sometimes people may experience financial difficulties and struggle to make payments for rent. If you do experience any difficulties, contact your Patch Manager straight away for advice and assistance or the Income Management Team on 0844 736 0007.
Don't bury your head in the sand - it is easier to resolve the problem early, rather than waiting until the debt is out of control.
If you are unable to clear the outstanding balance immediately - don't worry. Your Patch Manager can make a repayment plan to suit your finances to repay the debt over a period of time. Action will not be taken against a tenant who is sticking to a repayment plan, even if you are only paying a small amount off your arrear each week.
Tristar also understand that you may have other debts in addition to your rent. If you have two or more debts owed to the Council, then you will qualify for help through Stockton Borough Council and Tristar Homes combined payment scheme.
Types of debt covered by the policy are:
- Housing Rents
- Mortgages
- Council Tax
- Invoices
- Community Charge
- Overpayment of Benefits
- Former Tenants Arrears
We will help to prioritise your debts and combine all of the arrears you owe to the Council into one amount and set a realistic repayment plan for you.
