In some circumstances we may bill current tenants or former tenants for damage that has happened to their home which is not 'reasonable' or through fair 'wear and tear'. Our customers are responsible for damage to their home caused by family members or visitors. We call these bills 'rechargeable repairs'.
We also bill former tenants and current tenants if we need to take action to tidy up gardens if rubbish has been left or alterations made, or clean the inside of a property by using cleaners or contractors - where this happens large charges can apply.
On top of these charges a 10% admin fee is made and for current tenants VAT is added at 17.5%. For a £100 repair this means the total bill would be £129.25. You have the option of making some minor repairs yourself, but this must be to Tristar Homes' standard and the quality of fittings used must be satisfactory.
You may be required to pay a deposit of 20% of the charge of work depending on whether work is required to be carried out swiftly for health & safety reasons.
