Leasehold Service
As well as tenants renting homes, Tristar Homes also has (as of October 2007) 278 leaseholders who previously bought flats through the Government's 'Right to Buy' scheme, or from former tenants who owned the property.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council has a statutory obligation to continue to provide certain landlord services to the purchaser (known as leaseholder).
All leaseholders, without exception, are required to contribute towards the costs incurred by the Council for landlord services. It is these costs, which are collectively known as "Service Charges".
As the management of the organisation for the Council leaseholder portfolio, Tristar Homes Limited is responsible for ensuring that landlord services are provided to leaseholders and that contributions are recovered via their annual Service Charge invoice.
