What is the insurance charge?

Tristar Homes acting on behalf of Stockton Borough Council as the landlord pay for the structural (building) insurance of your flat and you are charged a share of this as part of your Service Charge.

The insurance policy covers structural damage caused by things such as, vandalism, storm, theft and subsidence.

The benefits of Tristar Homes arranging this insurance are that:

• All leaseholders have adequate insurance to protect all tenants in the building.
• Tristar Homes can usually obtain lower rates of insurance than those available elsewhere.

The current rate for insurance cover is £1.57 per £1,000 sum insured.

The insurance policy does not cover your contents - so you are strongly advised to arrange your own contents insurance with an insurance company of your own choice.
