Investors in People award for Tristar Homes

Tristar Homes in Stockton have been awarded with the Investors in People (IIP) National Standard accreditation.
The prestigious accreditation has recognised Tristar's dedication to continuous improvement through the development of their staff and organisation.
Steve Boyd, Managing Director for Tristar Homes, is delighted with the accreditation. He said: "The IIP will help us to continue to provide excellent customer service and improve our knowledge and skills and it's great to be recognised in providing excellent training and support for our staff. There is no doubt that our staff development is vital to the continued success of the group and our commitment to excellent customer service."
Investors in People standard is designed to help organisations of all sizes transform their business performances, by providing a framework to find the most suitable means for achieving success through their employees.
Sue Crow, HR manager for Tristar Homes said; "Employees have direct access to training or development required to satisfy the needs of their role or to equip them with more skills to meet the company's flexible workforce agenda. Everybody has access to training, if our staff are interested, all they have to do is ask."
Having been built on 18 years of experience, the IIP accreditation looks set to support Tristar's existing CSE award (Customer Service Excellence) and provide a more successful framework to Tristar Homes for its customers and employees.
Malcolm Lawson, IIP assessor was impressed by the vast improvements over the past two years. He said; "It was a real pleasure to revisit Tristar Homes and experience the dramatic improvements made to leadership, relationships and pride of the workforce."
Investors in People standard measures procedures, behaviour and practice against 10 indicators containing a total of 39 criteria focusing on all aspects of the workplace from health and wellbeing, equality and diversity to literacy, language and numeracy.
- IIP revise their framework approximately every 5 years. This development work involves consultations with customers, employees and leading people management organisations. It is via research, extensive piloting of new areas of development, and listening to customers that the integrity and effectiveness of the Investors in People Standard is maintained.
