Yes, you are still liable to pay your rent charges whilst you are waiting for your benefit to be processed. However, your circumstances determine how much benefit you will receive and therefore how much rent you will need to pay. If you contact the Council's Housing Benefit Section they should be able to give you an estimate of your benefit entitlement
You are advised to contact your Patch Manager where you have a Housing Benefit Claim pending in order to prevent arrears action being taken.
