The Council's Care For Your Area Team are responsible for a whole host of local environmental services, although their principal areas of responsibility are Refuse Collection, Street Cleansing, Horticultural Services and Highway Maintenance.
In addition, they also provide the following services:-
- Domestic and Commercial Refuse Collection Services
- The installation, replacement and emptying of litter bins.
- Graffiti removal - this service is chargeable to any property for which the Council is not responsible.
- Maintenance of Parks, Open Spaces and Council owned Play Areas.
- The removal of large items of bulky household waste - this is a chargeable service.
- The removal of fly-tipped waste from the public highway.
- The Kerbside Recycling Collection Service.
- The maintenance and cleansing of the public conveniences within the Borough
- The siting of community skips. These are skips placed throughout the Borough on a regular basis for use by the community - the Council no longer offers any other skip services. Please refer to the Yellow Pages for skip companies.
- Waste Awareness and Education.
- Highway Maintenance Services (pavement and carriageway inspections/repairs, street nameplates, skip and scaffolding licenses, winter maintenance etc.)
