On the 28th October we held our 1st annual customer awards, to celebrate the achievements of our customers. From the overwhelming number of nominations received winners were chosen for their bravery, ingenuity, selflessness and great team work.

Resident of the Year

Mrs Norma Pearson - Billingham

Resident of the years was awarded to Norma Pearson of Kennedy Gardens in Billingham who has been running a club for pensioners for the last 12 years, hold regular bingo sessions, trips out, charity events and regular Christmas lunches. Amongst the incredible amount of work she has done for the community over the years she has also managed time to be the secretary of the residents group.

Good Neighbour Award

Mr Albert Duff - Norton

Good Neighbour Award was awarded to Mr Albert Duff because of his tremendous efforts to help everyone in his square. At the age of 80 Mr Duff cuts and weeds all 12 gardens in the square and, amongst many of his neighbourly good deeds, he keeps everyone fully nourished with his tasty baked pies.

Personal or Community Achievement Award

Sam & Leanne Cole - Billingham

Community or Personal achievement awards was presented to Sam and Leanne Cole for their involvement in the Eastern Ravens young carers project for the past four years since their mother was diagnosed with cancer. Through their emphatic and caring approach they have brought so much pleasure and understanding to a lot of young people lives

Young Achiever Award

Kelly Hubbuck - Stockton

Young Achiever Award was awarded to Kelly Hubbuck for her continuous representation of the young people in the area. As a member of the Corner House Project and the secretary of the steering group Choices 4 U she works extremely hard and volunteers a lot of her time.

Best Garden Award

Mr & Mrs Turner - Eaglescliffe

Best Garden Award was awarded to Mr John and Betty Turner for the creation of their haven of tranquillity. Mr and Mrs Turner have put in incredible amount of time and effort to create a garden that would make Alan Titchmarsh jealous.

Pride of Tristar Award

Mrs Norma Pearson - Billingham

A special award the Pride of Tristar was presented to one of the winners on the night acknowledging them as someone who encapsulates the spirit of Tristar Homes, Norma Pearson was recognised as someone who has shown an outstanding commitment to where she lives, improving the neighbourhood to its maximum potential, taken an active role in the development of the her community and had a positive impact on the lives of people around her.
