Tristar Homes Ltd offers a special insurance service for Stockton Borough Council's Housing Tenants. In conjunction with Aon and Norwich Union, Tristar can offer you a quality Home Contents Insurance service with low cost premiums.
Many Council tenants can mistakenly believe that their furniture, personal belongings and decorations are automatically insured against theft or damage from fire and burst pipes. Unfortunately this is not the case.
The scheme that Tristar Homes offers allows you to pay weekly premiums with your rent payment. The scheme operates a special low minimum insured total of only £6,000 for over 60's and £9,000 for all others. The policy can provide cover up to £25,000 against theft, fire and water damage. All your home contents are covered by the policy on a "new for old" basis with the exception of linen and clothing where a deduction is made for wear and tear.
The scheme is on offer to all Council tenants who have a clear rent account and cover will remain, providing rent account payments are kept up to date and personal circumstances do not change. However should your rent account enter into arrears your insurance policy would become invalid, and Tristar Homes Ltd reserves the right to cancel such policies.
