Benchmarking
Definition: Assessing an organisation's performance by comparing it to that of other organisations of a similar size and purpose.

BME
Definition: Black and Minority Ethnic. Sometimes written as BEM (Black and Ethnic Minority).

Board of Management
Definition: Group of people who have volunteered or been elected to control the affairs of a housing association or ALMO. They can come from all walks of life but must have some interest or experience which relates to the work that the housing association does and the community it serves. It may also be called a Management Committee, Management Board, Board, or Board of Trustees.

Budget
Definition: The amount of money an organisation or service area estimates it will spend in one year.

Business Plan
Definition: Plan that sets out the organisation's objectives.
