Leaseholder
Definition: A person who does not own the land their home is built on, and pays a ground rent for a fixed number of years. Tenants who live in flats and buy them from their landlord are called leaseholders.

Local Authority (also referred to as "The Council")
Definition: A term used to define a body providing and managing local public services (such as housing) in a defined area, e.g. District Councils, County Councils and Metropolitan Boroughs. Social Landlords are usually Local Authorities or Housing Associations.
Local Lettings / Local Lettings Policy
Definition: Practice of involving local tenants in the letting of Social Housing properties in order to give them an opportunity to become involved in the management of their estates and to develop stable, harmonious communities.
LSP Local Strategic Partnership
Definition: A single body that brings together (at a local level) public, private, community and voluntary sector organisations so that different initiatives and services support each other and work together to tackle key issues for local people.
