Rent a Garage

In a limited number of homes, a garage is included within the tenancy. However we also rent large numbers of garages that are close to homes on many of our estates.  We have garages available in all 4 areas.

Our garages costs about £7.17 per week to rent, but VAT is payable by non Council tenants. This covers the weekly hire and any repairs required to the garage.

If you wish to consider renting a garage then you should contact your Local Housing Office and someone will contact you to discuss the availability of a garage in the area you require.

Demand and availability for garages varies across the Borough, but in areas where demand exceeds supply we operate a waiting list and you would be contacted should a garage become free.

Garage Site Leases

In addition to the garages provided by the Council, there are about 50 sites across the Borough (though none in Thornaby) where for an annual lease fee of £47.35 you can erect your own temporary garage on a base at the site.
